某人對其友人每每敘說其至各處名山勝水，其境之美，旅行中的種種趣事，滔滔不絕，活生活現；心中欽羨之餘，不免生感自己不如友人之見聞廣闊。
其實人生各有各的際遇，且每人的眼界自有不同；即使有相同的際遇去相同景點遊覽，也不保證、不！一定會有各自不同的體會與感受。
『一顆開闊的心』，是旅行所追求的目的，亦是旅行所必備的要件。怎麼說的：常有人旅行是為了散散心，讓大自然的另一種新風貌來化解疲累的心節。
面對大自然奇妙奧麗的景觀，的確能使人心胸為之一闊，全身無不歸附於自然的滋潤，輕鬆自在、舒暢；然而，一個封閉的心靈，是感受不到這般美景之真締，不過是訝異於其不同於平日無彩生活之外，什麼也得不到。當人家問道：『○○○○去過沒？』 答道：『去過 』就沒了下文。所以開放的心思、敏銳的感受力，才重要。據此二項也就不必刻意的去追逐奇山妙境一遊。所謂：
『會心處不必在遠，翳然林水，便自有濠濮間想也，覺鳥獸禽魚自來親人。』
